Danish Open ends but players travel to France next week

The Danish Open has ended after Sam and Chloe Magee having a brilliant win over the World number 17 seeds but eventually losing out to the World number 1 and world silver medallists from China. Next tournament up will be the French Open.

Sam and Chloe Magee put in a world-class performance in their first round match to overcome the tough Indian pair of Chopra/Reddy 21-17 21-15. Next match up was against the World Number 1 Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen of China. The world medallist showed their class during the game making it very difficult for Sam and Chloe to get points on the board. Sam and Chloe held their own against the pair but lost out in the end 21-12 21-13.

Scott Evans lost out in the qualification round after winning the first round of the mixed against Danish pair Molhede/Norgaard, then losing out to strong Danish pair Nohr/Thygesen. Scott was playing with new mixed partner Amanda Hogstrom of Sweden. Scott also exited in the first round of the men’s singles losing out to Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke.

These players along with Joshua Magee will travel to the French Open next week looking for more strong performances.
