Two Silver for Ireland at the World Senior Championships

Mark Topping and Graham Henderson both had great performances in the recent World Senior Championships to take a silver medal in the 50MD category. Mark Topping also took a silver medal alongside English partner Debbie Walker in the 50XD. 

Also playing in this event was Bob Evans who won his opening match in the 70MS but lost out in the round of 16 after coming up England’s Ray sharp who put him out winning 21-17 21-9.

In the men’s doubles final, Mark and Graham took the match to three games but lost out to the ultimately stronger pair of Ting/Ertanto of Malaysia and Indonesia 21-17 16-21 21-13.

Mark also featured in the mixed doubles final where the match was lost in another long three-game battle against Tandun/Tendean of Indonesia. The final score there was 21-19 21-12 21-14.
